Bush set to raise money for McCain

President Bush next week will attend a series of fundraisers in the West and Midwest for Republican candidates, including the man he would like to succeed him, presumptive GOP nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.). President Bush next week will attend a series of fundraisers in the West and Midwest for Republican candidates, including the man he would like to succeed him, presumptive GOP nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.).

The president will attend fundraisers for McCain and the Republican National Committee (RNC) Victory Fund in Phoenix, Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah.

The president will also attend a fundraiser for state Sen. Nick Jordan (R-Kan.), who is running against Rep. Dennis Moore (D-Kan.).

Despite worries among Republicans that Bush and his low approval rating will hurt them in the fall the president remains a prolific fundraiser and enjoys broad support in conservative parts of the country.

With the two Democratic candidates breaking all fundraising records, Bush will likely play a key role in helping McCain keep pace.
